ENQUIRER. Do you believe in God?

THEOSOPHIST. That depends what you mean by the term.

ENQUIRER. I mean the God of the Christians, the Father of Jesus, and the Creator: the Biblical God of Moses, in short.

THEOSOPHIST. In such a God we do not believe. We reject the idea of a personal, or an extra-cosmic and anthropomorphic God, who is but the gigantic shadow of man, and not of man at his best, either. The God of theology, we say -- and prove it -- is a bundle of contradictions and a logical impossibility. Therefore, we will have nothing to do with him.

The Secret Doctrine  … admits a Logos or a collective "Creator" of the Universe; a Demi-urgos -- in the sense implied when one speaks of an "Architect" as the "Creator" of an edifice, whereas that Architect has never touched one stone of it, but, while furnishing the plan, left all the manual labour to the masons; in our case the plan was furnished by the Ideation of the Universe, and the constructive labour was left to the Hosts of intelligent Powers and Forces. But that Demiurgos is no personal deity, -- i.e., an imperfect extra-cosmic god, -- but only the aggregate of the Dhyan-Chohans and the other forces. H. P. Blavatsky’s The Secret Doctrine was published in 1888 and is relatively unknown in modern times.  As it happens in this strange universe, Blavatsky anticipated numerous modern concepts and theories in physics concerning the creation of the Universe, the mechanisms of the laws of nature and the holographic paradigm in the areas of physics and the psychology of consciousness.  Her writing foreshadowed the enigmas faced within modern quantum physics and cosmology, especially as  pertain to the ‘uncertainty principle’ and the ‘baffling holism’ of quantum theory, as well as current enigmas concerning the nature of  Space, zero point fields and the quantum ether.  Most importantly, Blavatsky articulated the concept of the zero point or singularity origin of the Cosmos and a profound alternative view of the root principles of creation–the nature of the Aether and higher Space dimensions—the Void and the Divine Plenum. 

 

            Blavatsky states: “... ‘material points without extension’ … are ... the materials out of which the ‘Gods’ and other invisible powers clothe themselves in bodies….”  I have attempted to grasp the profound meanings of this claim and relate this ancient mystical teaching to the newest ideas in physics and science, and to explorations of human consciousness. The zero point hypotheses can be applied to the study of the macrocosm, the Universe or Kosmos, to material quanta or elements, and to the study of the microcosm—the inner world of human consciousness and Self-existence. 

 

            I sincerely hope that this work helps others to penetrate the secret doctrines explored by H. P. Blavatsky—a Holy World Star, if ever there was one.   Blavatsky’s archaic metaphysics and divine wisdom teaching articulated over a century ago provide astonishing insights into the enigmas and theories of modern physics, cosmology and consciousness studies.  They also provide a complex model of ‘Intelligent Design’ through “divine microintervention” involving the dynamics of zero point centres in holographic Space.

An Archaic Manuscript ... is before the writer’s eye. On the first page is an immaculate white disk within a dull black ground. On the following page, the same disk, but with a central point. The first ... Kosmos in Eternity, before the re-awakening of still slumbering Energy, the emanation of the Word …  The point in the hitherto immaculate Disk, Space and Eternity in Pralaya, denotes the dawn of differentiation. It is the Point in the Mundane Egg, the germ within the latter which will become the Universe, the ALL, the boundless, periodical Kosmos, this germ being latent and active, periodically by turns. The one circle is divine Unity, from which all proceeds, whither all returns. (I., p.1)

 

 “ ... “material points without extension”  are Leibnitz’s monads, and at the same time the materials out of which the ‘Gods’ and other invisible powers clothe themselves in bodies….  the entire universe concentrating itself, as it were, in a single point.”    (p. 489)

 

... all the so-called Forces of Nature, Electricity, Magnetism, Light, Heat, etc., etc., far from being modes of motion of material particles, are in esse, i.e., in their ultimate constitution, the differentiated aspects of that Universal Motion. ...  When Fohat is said to produce “Seven Laya Centres,” it means that for formative or creative purposes, the GREAT LAW (Theists may call it God) stops, or rather modifies its perpetual motion on seven invisible points within the area of the manifested Universe.  “The great Breath digs through Space seven holes into Laya to cause them to circumgyrate during Manvantara.”  (Occult Catechism). We have said that Laya is what Science may call the Zero-point or line; the realm of absolute negativeness, or the one real absolute Force … the neutral axis, not one of the many aspects, but its centre.  … “Seven Neutral Centres” then are produced by Fohat….         (S.D., I, pp.147-8)
